Who We Are
Passionate. Patient. Persistent.
Paws Etiquette was founded in 2022 on the belief that not all dogs are born equal. They each have their own unique traits and mannerisms, and therefore require their own unique and specialised training. That’s where we come in!
Whether it’s for basic manners or more complex training issues, Paws Etiquette is focused on not only training your canine companion, but teaching you how to effectively communicate with them. This method of training is full of fun techniques that will give you and your dog a happier more fulfilled life together.
About Me
Natalie Childs
IMDT., Pro Trainer, Canine Principles
Having grown up in a family who always had the honour of living with and loving various breeds of dogs, including Parson Terriers, Dobermans, Rottweilers and Labradors, I always understood the importance of a positive, loving, and trust based relationship between dog and human and how rewarding it can be. Although training and working with dogs has always been part of my life my real journey began when I got my first Russian Black Terrier. Whilst attempting to enrol her in the local puppy classes with various local trainers I was told that my puppy was not suitable for their classes as she was so much bigger than the usual students, I was even told by one trainer that she was only willing to enrol her in their growl class as she was so big rather than her puppy age group (growl classes were dedicated to reactive and aggressive dogs). I began to realise that the local trainers simply did not want to train such a large dog and often even seemed apprehensive when being in her presence (at 75kgs who would blame them...) and so I realised that I needed to help and train her myself and so my wonderful journey began into the study and practice of training dogs.
In 2017 I decided to take my love for working with dogs to the next level and began my professional dog trainer journey. Gaining experience in a voluntary Dog Trainer Assistant role at first I was finally qualified to take the lead Dog Trainer Role while continuing my in-depth studies of force free, science based dog training methods proudly achieving Distinction Accreditation with top dog training institutes such as IMDT and Canine Principles both in Practical and Theory Assessments and Experience.
I am an accredited IMDT member and trainer (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) , Pro Trainer with Absolute Dogs and studied with Canine Principles, achieving diplomas in Canine Coaching, Search and Rescue Dog Handler, Enrichment through Scent Work, Canine Behaviour Professional Accredited Diploma, Canine Reactive Behaviour Accredited Advanced Certificate along with The Open College Network Accredited Certification ‘Principles of Dog Training and Behaviour', Level 3 . And as part of the UK Dog training charter I am honoured to display the UK Dog Behaviour & Training Charter symbol as an Assessed and Qualified Member of The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (www.imdt.uk.com)
Through continuing my personal development I can ensure I can provide you with the most appropriate, relationship building positive solutions.
Based in the United Kingdom, focusing on but not restricted to Braintree/Essex area, I look forward to working with you and your canine companion, either in person or via Zoom.
